Bioflow Helps Boost Lawrie 118 Places in Official World Golf Rankings
Posted by: Darren Ramowski on Mon 28 May 2012
Bioflow, one of the world's leading suppliers of magnetic wrist products for sport, is celebrating staff player Paul Lawrie finishing runner-up at the 2012 BMW PGA Championship and continuing his remarkable rise to 29th in the official world golf rankings, his joint-highest career ranking.
The Scotsman shot an impressive final round 66 (-6) to finish in a tie for second place with Justin Rose on -11 under par, four shots back from eventual winner Luke Donald.
Richard Corsie MBE, Managing Director of Bioflow, commented: “We’re delighted for Paul; he’s such a great ambassador for our products. To think when we first started working together at the Scottish Open in 2011 he was 147 in the world rankings and now he’s inside the world’s top 30; it’s quite phenomenal.”
Wearing his red Bioflow sport wristband, Lawrie remained completely relaxed and in control of his game all week and finished strongest on Sunday with one eagle, five birdies and a sole bogey on the way to recording the lowest final round of the day on the West Course at Wentworth.
Lawrie commented: "You're never unhappy when you shoot 66, but really it should have been a few less.”
"When you get on a bit of a run the confidence goes up and right now it's probably never been better” added the Bioflow ambassador.
Most widely known for winning the Open Championship back in 1999, Lawrie completes a remarkable resurgence in the game and the strong finish at Wentworth moves him up to second place in the Ryder Cup points table, 5th in the Race to Dubai and the highest ranked Scottish player in the world for the first time.
Lawrie completed an outstanding month of May by celebrating his 500th appearance on the European Tour at the Volvo Matchplay, where he recorded another podium finish.
“A third place finish in Spain a week ago and a second place finish this week at Wentworth; let’s hope Paul can go one better this week at Celtic Manor in Wales” added Corsie.
Lawrie is joined on Team Bioflow, by fellow golfers Lee Westwood, Thomas Aiken, Chris Wood, David Horsey, Simon Dyson and Christina Kim as Bioflow further enhance their position as the go-to magnotherapy wristbands and bracelets in golf.
