Cabrera-Bello in Dubai Desert Delight With Titleist

Posted by: Darren Ramowski on Tue 14 Feb 2012

Titleist Brand Ambassador Rafael Cabrera-Bello trusts a full bag of Titleist equipment to claim victory in Dubai.

From posting nine birdies in his first eleven holes on Thursday to finishing with a bogey free round of 68, Titleist Brand Ambassador Rafael Cabrera-Bello produced an assured and exciting display to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic this weekend.

The Spaniard finished ahead of an all-Titleist golf ball top-4 to claim his second career European Tour title at Emirates Golf Club, following his 2009 victory at the Austrian Golf Open. Cabrera-Bello was joined in victory by Titleist golf ball loyalists Corey Pavin and Mardan Mamat, who trusted the feel and control of the #1 ball in golf to emerge victorious on the Champions Tour and Asian Tour respectively.

Cabrera-Bello trusted the feel and playability of Titleist from tee-to-green to claim victory in the desert, including;

  • Pro V1x golf ball
  • 910D3 driver
  • 910Fd fairway metal
  • 910H hybrid
  • MB (712) irons
  • Vokey Design SM4 sand and lob wedges
  • Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter.

His 18-under par winning total saw him claim victory by one shot from new World #2 Lee Westwood (Pro V1x) and Stephen Gallacher (Pro V1x), with Marcel Siem (Pro V1x) finishing alone in 4th. Titleist Brand Ambassadors Rory McIlroy (Pro V1x) and George Coetzee (Pro V1x) finished one shot further back in a tie for 5th, as each of the top-4 and six of the top-8 put their trust in #1 ball in golf . The feel and performance of Titleist golf balls also made them the choice of the majority of the field, with 82 players putting their trust in the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to 19 for the nearest competitor.

Elsewhere, it was an all-Titleist golf ball play-off on the Champions Tour, where Pro V1 loyalist Corey Pavin won the Allianz Championship at the first extra hole. Pavin birdied the first play-off hole to edge fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Peter Senior (Pro V1), and was joined towards the top of the leaderboard by Bernard Langer (Pro V1) and Michael Allen (Pro V1x) as each of the top four finishers put their trust in Titleist golf balls. On the Asian Tour, Pro V1x loyalist Mardan Mamat was the only player to shoot four consecutive sub-par rounds, en route to winning the Philippine Open by five shots. Mamat’s wire-to-wire win marks his third career Asian Tour victory, and bolsters Titleist’s 2012 worldwide golf ball win count to 13, compared to 3 for the nearest competitor.
