Yani Tseng Re-Signs with Adams Golf

Posted by: Darren Ramowski on Wed 25 Jan 2012

World number one and reigning two-time LPGA Player of the Year Yani Tseng resigns with Adams Golf in a multi-year agreement.  This agreement continues a highly successful relationship between Adams Golf and Tseng.

“Since switching to Adams Golf equipment, I have won 17 times and become the #1 player in the world,” said Tseng.  “I like the fact that Adams Golf is one of the most innovative companies in golf, and I can trust their products to consistently perform at the highest levels of competition.  I also appreciate their faith in me dating back to 2009.  It only makes sense to continue with them and I am excited to see what the future holds.”

Tseng had an incredible year in 2011.  She got off to a hot start with four consecutive victories in as many starts and became the #1 ranked player in the world in mid-February.  And that was just the beginning.  She ultimately collected 12 wins worldwide including two major championships (LPGA State Farm Classic and RICOH Women’s British Open) becoming the youngest golfer, male or female, to win five majors.  She was named the LPGA Player of the Year for the second year in a row – again the youngest player to win consecutive player of the year honors.  She accepted the honor in her home country of Taiwan prior to the inaugural Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, which she went on to win by five strokes in front of record crowds.  She was also awarded with Women’s Sports Foundation Athlete of the Year Award, United States Sports Academy Female Athlete of the Year Award and Golf Writers Association of America Female Player of the Year Award.

“It has been an absolute honor to have Yani as a part of our tour staff for the last three years and witness the things she has accomplished in that short time,” said Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Adams Golf.  “Yani is an amazing young woman on and off the golf course.  When we partnered with her before the 2009 season we knew she would be a great representative of our brand, and she has exceeded all of our expectations.  We at Adams Golf take a lot of pride in being a part of Yani’s success and her rise to becoming #1.”
