Wilson New Superlight DXi Driver

By: Darren Ramowski | Fri 06 Jan 2012

Wilston Staff DXi DriverWilson Staff is introducing its lightest-ever driver as part of an extensive 2012 golf range to help golfers of all abilities improve their game.

The Wilson Staff DXi Superlight driver weighs just 269 grams which is up to 50g less than most traditional drivers on the market.

Designed to deliver greater clubhead speed and distance the new clubhead has selectively thinned, non-structural areas of the crown and sole that reduces the overall weight of the club by 6 grams.

Wilson Staff have extensively tested the DXi proving it has the lightest measured MOI on the market resulting in an effortless and controlled swing that creates a more dynamic, faster clubhead speed to deliver explosive power on impact with the ball.

“The DXi Superlight is the lightest driver we’ve ever produced,” said Jon Pergande, Wilson Golf’s Global Manager of R&D. “Our research has shown that golfers can improve their game with the DXi Superlight driver because its lightweight head, shaft and grip, along with expanded sweet spot, provide greater distance and optimal accuracy.”

The DXi Superlight driver also features a modified 5-Zone Cup-Face design that has expanded the sweet spot from previous drivers. The variable face thickness fine tunes and maximises the sweet spot into the heel and toe areas, thus increasing the high CT area of the club for optimal accuracy.

The Wilson Staff DXi Superlight is available in 9°, 10.5° (available in LH) and HL 12° lofts for men, while an HL 14° version is on offer for women golfers.

The driver will be available from February 2012.  For more details about Wilson Staff clubs, visit www.wilsonstaff.com.
