FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf, enjoyed yet another triumphant weekend as brand ambassadors and FJ SPORT™ wearers Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood claimed victory in Hong Kong and South Africa respectively. McIlroy’s win sets up an enthralling end of season finale for the World #2 as he goes head to head with World #1 and fellow FootJoy loyalist Luke Donald to become European #1 as the Race to Dubai draws to a close this week.

Relying on the athletically-inspired and unrivalled sports performance of the FJ SPORT, both McIlroy and Westwood lit up the course over the weekend in striking FJ SPORT designs. McIlroy didn’t put a foot wrong as he stomped his way through the rest of the field coming from three shots behind. As well as the FJ SPORT shoe McIlroy trusted the high-performance of the FJ PureTech™ glove to record a mercurial bogey free 65 which included five birdies at the UBS Hong Kong Open to finish two shots clear of fellow FJ brand ambassador Gregory Havret.

FootJoy rounded off another fantastic Sunday at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City. FJ SPORT loyalist, Lee Westwood established a seven shot lead for the final round after a scintillating course-record 62 in South Africa on Saturday. Westwood then closed with a one over par 73 to win by two shots, aided by the exceptional feel of the FJ SciFlex glove, to fight off the spirited challenge of fellow FJ brand ambassador Robert Karlsson.

The stage is perfectly set as McIlroy heads to the Earth course this week. A victory would mean that he would need Donald to finish outside the top eight to win the season-long Race to Dubai and cap off an exceptional 2011 for Rory McIlroy and FootJoy.
