img1_300The first Golfshake Open qualifier of 2010 took place on Friday 18th June at De Vere Wokefield Park.

Wokefield Park could have presented a tough challenge on a course that can play long and given the length of the rough could have been a very tough test for some at this time of year.

Despite this the top spot was taking by Darren Atkinson who carded a fantastic 39 points, closely followed by John Pettitt and David Ley both on 27 points.

The top placed upper tier handicap group winner was Andy Kirk carding 35 points followed by Ben Mann with 32 points.

John Pettitt commented 'This is the first time that I have been fortunate enough for the countback rules to be in my favour ....'  full comment in the forums

Big thanks most go to Dean Elliott for organising a fantastic and successful event.
