Callaway introduces X-Series JAWS CC wedges

Posted by: Adam Smith on Wed 16 Jun 2010

1632_269Callaway Golf will give all golfers the opportunity to own the exact wedges used and developed on Tour with the introduction of X-Series Jaws CC wedges, part of the company’s Tour Authentic range.

Available in a strictly limited supply and in a special slate grey finish, the new wedges have been designed to Tour-player specification and feature proprietary CC Grooves that meet the Condition of Competition on Tour, currently the only place they are required for play.

In addition to new grooves, the Jaws CC wedges offer Tour-level playing characteristics and feel thanks to features such as a C-Grind Sole, tighter leading edge, enhanced weight distribution and soft-forged 1020 carbon steel construction.

This special introduction – strictly limited to just 600 wedges across Europe – complements the existing
X-Series Jaw wedges that have been crafted by legendary designer Roger Cleveland and feature high-performance Mack Daddy grooves.

Neil Howie, president of Callaway Golf Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “This limited edition range of Jaws Wedges, part of our Tour Authentic range, gives golfers the chance to experience the playing characteristics developed and used on Tour.”

“At Callaway we have always recognised the need to make the game easier for all levels of player and that’s why this special ‘CC’ line will complement the already hugely successful X-Series Jaws wedges, featuring Mack Daddy Grooves, which give the ultimate in spin control.”

The X-Series Jaws CC wedges are available from June 15th in a range of loft options.

X-SERIES JAWS BENEFITS:

NEW Design Feature: Enhanced weight distribution

Benefit: Weight has been moved higher in the head design to promote tour-preferred trajectories and control characteristics better players prefer.
