Ben Clayton Cleveland Srxion Short Game AmbassadorCleveland Golf & Srixon announce the winner of their ‘Search for a Short Game Specialist Coach’ competition

PGA professional Ben Clayton has been selected as the new Cleveland Golf/Srixon Short Game Ambassador.
The 30-year old professional from Hindhead Golf Club in Hampshire, was one of hundreds of PGA professionals who responded to Cleveland Golf/Srixon’s ‘search for a new short game specialist’ article, which was featured in the December issue of leading industry publication ProShop Europe.

Clayton, a keen teaching professional, turned his hand to short game after realizing the affect it had on his pupils if given the correct attention. His application stood out for his sheer desire to help golfers achieve their potential around the greens.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have been chosen as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon Short Game Ambassador,” said Clayton. “It will be an honor to represent two brands with such heritage and strength in the short game market.”
Ben Davis, marketing manager, Cleveland Golf Europe added: “We loved Ben’s no-nonsense approach to coaching the short game and the fact that he achieves such great results with the players he works with no matter what their standard. It’s an attitude that very much aligns with Cleveland Golf’s desire to make the game more rewarding and enjoyable for all players. The company just regained its position as the Number One wedge brand thanks to the new CG15 wedge and we look forward to Ben showcasing the new product for us this season.”

As the new Cleveland Golf/Srixon Short Game Ambassador Clayton receives a full complement of Cleveland wedges, a year’s supply of Srixon golf balls as well as branded bags and goods. The short game area at Hindhead will also be branded with signage and a bag of demo Cleveland wedges and Srixon golf balls will be supplied to the club.

“I’m very fortunate to have some of the finest short game facilities at my fingertips at Hindhead,” adds Clayton. “The course is a heathland classic, renowned for having some of the best greens in the country. Golfers can practice a number of short game shots from bunker, pitches to chip shots, all from a variety of lies and ground conditions, which makes learning realistic and rewarding. Having quality clubs to practice with will only make practice even more productive.”
