Tiger Woods Australian MastersIt might have been 35 degrees and with reported crowds of 22,000 following him around but Tiger Woods still showed his steel with a 2 shot win at the Australian Masters.

The crowds got what they had hoped to expect with his win on hist first appearance in an Australian event in over 10 years and hopefully so did the organisers with the $3 million appearance fee.

“You had to make some birdies early, and I was able to do that,” Woods said. “I kept it going most of the day.”

He pulled away from a three-way tie for the lead with three birdies on his opening six holes, then seized control with a tee shot that covered the flag and stopped six feet away for birdie on the 15th. He finished at 14-under 274.

Tiger Woods will be back on home soil in December for his final event of the year at the Chevron World Challenge in California.
