Grand Opening for Boundary Lakes Golf Course in Hampshire

By: Golfshake Editor | Fri 07 Jul 2017

In what is exciting news for Hampshire, the beautiful Boundary Lakes Golf Course at the Ageas Bowl is to enjoy a grand opening on Monday (10th July) as the striking layout is unveiled to the public.

The parkland par 69 course, set against the iconic background of Hampshire Cricket’s home, and complete with USGA standard greens and eye-catching feature lakes, is set to be launched next week with the course’s construction now complete.

The new addition arrives at one of the South’s most exciting venues – one which already comprises a stunning 171-bedroom Hilton hotel, a Sir Ian Botham-inspired BEEFY’S brasserie restaurant, Lakeview Sports Bar and luxurious eforea spa.

Off course facilities including Boundary Lakes’ brand new clubhouse and American Golf store are all housed within the luxury Hilton at the Ageas Bowl.

Work has been ongoing at the site for over five years, with the opening of the course representing a major landmark in the development of the venue.

The Ageas Bowl Chief Executive, David Mann said: “We’re extremely proud to announce the opening of Boundary Lakes Golf Course. This was a major engineering achievement and we have been working hard on this project for a number of years.

“I would particularly like to thank the course architect Bruce Weller for his design input, our partners at Keltbray who delivered the project and our own greenkeeping staff who have worked tirelessly to present the course in fantastic condition.”

Former England and Hampshire cricketer, Tim Tremlett, has been named as first club captain and will be hitting the opening tee shot at 10:45am at Monday’s launch event, before members are entitled to play from 11am.

Earlier this year, Boundary Lakes experienced phenomenal demand for both five and seven day membership packages, with a ballot required to select successful applicants and despite membership being full it’s not too late to join a waiting list, whilst pay and play green fees at the course begin from just £20.
