Made famous or infamous by the continued media coverage of the likes of Stephen Fry building up a following of over 400,000 people interested in his day to day life, Twitter is an online social messaging/updating tool allowing you to keep your 'followers' up to date in real time by writing 'tweets' be that about your life, blog, photos, interests etc etc

Judge for yourself either a useful social media tool to stay in contact or an easy way to do a bit of celebrity stalking ?

Check out some of the Professional Golfers using Twitter.

Ian Poulter seems to be the first European player to use twitter http://twitter.com/Ianjamespoulter  although currently with only a few 100 followers compared to the 90,000+ of Stewart Cink -  http://twitter.com/stewartcink

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading John Daly's updates and look forward to following him once he reaches the European Tour, he also pretty much follows back anyone who follows him :)  http://twitter.com/PGA_JohnDaly

The LPGA tour also heavily features on Twitter with  http://twitter.com/natalie_gulbis and http://twitter.com/morganpressel leading the way.
