How to use GOLFNOW to make the most of your USA Golf Holiday

By: | Mon 13 Feb 2017

There are many ways you can book a golf holiday to the USA, you could do it yourself independently or you could rely on a golf holiday specialist such as Golfbreaks.com to help create you the perfect trip, either way you may find yourself in need of some additional tee times while on your trip away, but how do you navigate you way through the mass of courses on offer?

On a recent trip to the Florida this was the dilemma I was faced with. Myself and a friend had several spare days either side of work commitments and were very keen on some golf in the sun! Now there are over 1500 courses in Florida and a huge number in Orlando where we were staying, the choice is overwhelming.

It is fair to say we were at a loss on how to choose where to play and really unsure on what offered good value, but using sites such as Golfshake and Golf Advisor to check reviews gave us a good idea of how fellow golfers had rated the courses in and around the area. So how to book our tee times and more importantly how to compare value?

Step in GOLFNOW.com! You may have heard of this site, it is owned by NBC and if you watch Sky Sports you will see it on your TV screens every now and then during the USA coverage. They also recently completed the purchase of the UK's largest tee time booking site, teeofftimes.co.uk, so you may well be seeing a lot more of them.

Having never used a tee time booking engine before I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of the process, you simply follow these steps:

1. Head to GOLFNOW.com

2. Enter the area that you plan to play, select a date and the number of players

3.Filter your search results on time and price

4. Remember to check the Hot Deals!

5. Create and account for rewards or check out as a guest and pre-pay your tee time

It is as simple as that, you are then booked in. We used GOLFNOW three times in Florida, each time we felt we recieved terrific value, especially at  the superb Orange County National that was booked using a 'Hot Deal' and each time the process was seamless, buggies were loaded with our clubs upon arrival and we had no issues checking in at the pro shop and none of the surprises that you usually get such as state tax (you pay all this when your book your tee time online at the GolfNow checkout).

So, there you have a it, a great solution for booking your golf stateside! The only downside we found was that, although there was a huge amount of courses to choose from, they were nearly all public or resort course and not your grand country club, but hey, you can't always have it all!
