Players Support 'Pink Friday' at Dubai Desert Classic
The conditions weren't ideal, but it didn't stop players from supporting PINK Friday at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in their choice of clothing for the day. With the event working alongside the AL JALILA FOUNDATION, in association with Brest Friends (Dubai's only cancer support group), aiming to tackle the issues of breast cancer in the UAE by raising awareness, funding research and supporting the treatment of patients.
All players were encouraged to support this cause by wearing something pink on the day and Callaway Apparel was equally keen for our players to raise awareness and had just the solution. Real men wear pink and the Polo worn by our apparel Ambassadors is part of Callaway’s 2017 Spring / Summer collection which arrives in retailers this month.
Four-time winner on tour, David Horsey said: "Breast Cancer awareness has always been close to my heart with my mum suffering in the past. It's great to see everyone supporting this by wearing pink on the Friday of the Dubai Desert classic."
Popular Spaniard, Pablo Larrazabal commented: "t's a great charity and I'm glad the European Tour and players can raise awareness in some small way."
Europe's Ryder Cup captain, Thomas Bjorn was also delighted to participate. "This is a great initiative and one we are all delighted to support. All of us in the Callaway team will be looking resplendent in our pink shirts as we support this great cause on Friday at the DDC."
