Tiger Woods v Bob May at the 2000 PGA Championship

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 28 Jul 2016

We've just seen Stenson v Mickelson, and before that there was Watson v Nicklaus. But Woods v May was also a contest to be relished. Take a look back at the classic duel that concluded the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla.

Tiger was seeking his third straight major - after dominant victories at Pebble Beach and St. Andrews - while Bob was a journeyman pro without much in the way of name recognition or winning success. However, he produced the performance of his life to push the world's number one player to the bring in one of the most memorable finishes to be seen in the last major of the year. If we have anything like that this week at Baltusrol, we will be left feeling extremely grateful.
