The Grove Creates British Masters Themed Par 3 Birdie Challenge

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 21 Jul 2016

London's five-star golf resort, The Grove, has joined forces with Titleist and the European Tour to put together a unique birdie challenge as part of the build-up to the 2016 British Masters supported by Sky Sports, which is taking place at the venue from October 13-16.

Every golfer playing the Kyle Phillips-designed course between now and October 2, 2016 will be offered the ultimate birdie challenge when they arrive on the par 3 4th hole (the 13th during the tournament).

Golfers taking on the hole from the specially prepared back tee – exactly as it will appear for tournament host Luke Donald and other European Tour players in October – and shooting a birdie, will instantly win a commemorative 2-ball gift box of Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.

Anna Darnell, Director of Golf at The Grove, commented: “We wanted to create a British Masters-themed experience that every customer can enjoy and we could think of no better way than re-creating the kind of pressure shot European Tour players will face during tournament week.

“Our customers may not be playing for the British Masters title, but the lure of winning some very special Titleist Pro V1 golf balls should be a huge incentive for them to try the challenge and share their experiences on social media, we are even supplying an on-tee selfie stick to capture the action!”

What’s more, should golfers achieve the ultimate result – a hole-in-one – they will be placed into a draw for the chance to win a very special prize, which includes a one-day VIP corporate hospitality package for 10 people at The British Masters, alongside a unique experience courtesy of Titleist, the #1 ball in golf, and a European Tour Partner.

A lucky golfer will win a custom-fitted set of Titleist clubs (Driver, Fairways, Irons, Wedges and Putter), Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x Golf Balls (as used by British Masters tournament host and Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Luke Donald), and a pair of FootJoy shoes – given to them personally on a VIP Tour and fitting session at Titleist’s European headquarters in Cambridgeshire.

Matthew Johnson, Titleist Brand Director, said: “This challenge offers golfers an exciting opportunity to experience this iconic Par 3 exactly the way the best golfers in the world play it. More of the best golfers on worldwide tours choose the Pro V1 family for their total performance on the green and back to the tee, and it is these reasons why every golfer would benefit from playing a Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

“We are delighted The Grove has chosen to work with Titleist and the #1 ball in golf and to give all of their golfing guests the opportunity to win very special and quite unique Titleist Pro V1 golf ball packs. I also hope we will be celebrating a few hole-in-ones through the summer months and that we will get the chance to reward one lucky golfer a very special Titleist experience come the autumn.”

Sitting alongside the critically acclaimed golf course, The Grove offers luxury accommodation in 26 historic Mansion House suites, as well as 191 rooms within the contemporary West Wing, close to the Sequoia Spa where guests can indulge in a variety of treatments and therapies.

And for the duration of the summer, hotel guests will also be offered a complimentary commemorative British Masters Titleist golf ball in their rooms.
