SwingPlane Free Analysis App

By: Golf Shake | Tue 29 Sep 2015

Ever thought about having lessons and having your swing analysed but haven't got round to booking?  Then SwingPlane is the must have app to help you on your quest for improvement.

SwingPlane, developed by iGolfApps, is a free mobile app for iOS devices which captures your swing using your mobile phone or tablets camera.  The app will allow you to edit any videos you capture, playback in slow motion, compare your swing to the pros, analyse your swing in-depth, share online plus upload and pay for analysis by a golf pro.

After you’ve filmed your swing you can add lines, squares and circles to check key aspects of your swing (which can be saved for playback at a later date), check if your swing is on plane, check your set up angles and see things such as head movement and shoulder dipping.  You are also able to compare videos side by side; compare your swing to the likes of Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els; view frame by frame and slow motion replays and add notes to your videos. You can also export videos, which allows you to send your video between devices and/or upload it to social media.

One thing is for sure; the app will go a long way in improving the effectiveness of your practice sessions, which should result in lower scores and the app goes one step further allowing you to send a video to a golf pro and receive a custom lesson via the app.  All you have to do is purchase some credits* on the iGolfApps website or through the app, select one of your swing videos and send it to the coach of your choice.

See it in action - Swing video and lesson feedback

Feedback from golfer following lesson:

'Had my video lesson back from Dean and took board what he said and hit the practice range - awesome! Flushing nearly everything and yardages increases too.  First on course outing I was hitting every club slightly longer.  The app is a great way to capture my swing and then get an almost instant lesson online from a qualified coach.'

Working with Gary Smith, one of the UK’s leading golf coaches, and Dean Halford, 'TheOnlineGolfCoach' Advanced PGA Pro, it's a 3 step process to start improving your game.

  • Download ‘Swingplane’ from the App Store
  • Video your swing
  • Upload, pay and wait for your Lesson to come back *

SwingPlane Benefits

  • Permanent: Your lessons all saved in one place on your device to view anytime
  • Value: Have regular online lessons at a fraction of the cost of a face to face lesson

The app is also popular among professionals as it is free and replaces the thousands of pounds worth of equipment a pro would usually have to purchase to acquire this sort of technology.

Craig Helliwell, a professional golfer at Moortown Golf Club said: ““Having been a golf coach for the past 23 years and spent thousands on laptops and swing software this is the best money I have ever spent.

“I am a golf pro at Moortown GC and use this app for coaching. I recommend this to all my pupils and fellow professionals. Martin Heggie head pro at Moortown recommended this to me”
