The Online Golf Coach - Chipping Tips from Seve

By: Dean Halford | Fri 08 Jul 2011 | Comments ()

Before his passing the online golf coach spent four days with the great Seve Ballesteros where he learnt more about the short game than he had in the previous 10 years as a Pro.

The first thing he got taught was the ball strike is crucial…

“If you strike the ball the same way each time you can expect the same response when the ball hits the green” Seve said.

“Start with your weight on the left side and keep it there throughout the shot. This means you will keep your ‘Centre’ over the ball throughout the shot.”

“From here you hit the ball with your chest rather than your wrists creating a solid and consistent strike.”

“Keeping the weight left at strike, allow the club to “Bounce” off the deck with soft hands rather than letting the leading edge “Dig” into the ground.”

“Once you have that perfect strike all you need to do is pick the point you want the ball to land and watch the ball release the same each time!”

Wise words from the Legend Seve!
