Course Strategy - Use the Knockdown Shot

By: Golfshake Editor | Mon 31 Jul 2017 | Comments ()

"They've just played a great little knockdown shot there" - It's a phrase that you constanty hear whilst watching the PGA or European tour events, but what is it all about?

When playing into wind most golfers will try to hit the ball a little bit harder because they are worried about the ball not reaching the intended target. However, this idea is just plain wrong. The harder a golfer tries to hit the ball, the more spin that is imparted on the ball, possibly causing the ball to baloon in the air and fall shorter than expected.

James gives you the best tips and information to execute the knockdown shot successfully, a shot that will be more effective into the wind, adding lots of variety and options when out on the course.
