How much does it cost to run a society or group on Golfshake.com?
So long as you have a Premium account (£9.95 (GBP)) you can run your group with unlimited managed accounts.
If you upgraded to the £49.95 (GBP) group account, then this gives you and up to 7 members access to the Premium service plus the handicap member card which is part of the Platinum service.
Additional cards for each member can be purchased at £4.95 (GBP) but discounts can be applied.
If any of your members wanted to have their own Golfshake account then they can just use the free service and upgrade to the Premium or Platinum if they wanted.

Can I add rounds for my friend? Or do they have to become a member to record their own rounds?
You can add rounds for your friends. If you login and access the tools section you will find a link for 'Multiple Account Management ' you can then create accounts for your friends. When you add a round you use the normal system but on the score entry you will see that Player A allows a drop down which defaults to you but allows you to select the accounts you manage.
If you are planning to track more than 2 friends I'd recommend checking out the group system, that way you can the compare and view stats/rounds in one place:http://www.golfshake.com/help/group/
