Problems logging in although username and password are correct ?

The sites uses session based authentication. Some cookie blocking software and high security cookie settings may restrict access, although no information or cookies are stored directly on your PC.

Will golfshake.com calculate my golf handicap ?

Yes, the site will track your golf handicap, although at present the golf handicapping system only tracks UK and US golf handicaps. EGA, AGU and other country golf handicap tracking will be added soon!

Do you provide a golf certificate ?

The golfshake.com system provides a free online golf handicap certificate for all our accounts. Premium and Platinum Account members have a full online handicap certificate as well as a printable .pdf version. Free Standard Account members only have a very basic online handicap certificate. The golf certificate can also be set to allow anyone to see your current golf handicap and golf certificate online.

Is the golf handicap an official golf handicap ?

The golfshake.com handicap and handicap certificate is a recognised handicap that is accepted and recognised at golf courses worldwide. We are at present unable to formally call our golf handicap an official handicap as currently official handicaps can only be issued by golf clubs to their club members. However golfshake.com have never received any reported cases of anyone who has been refused permission to play a golf course after having shown a golfshake.com Handicap. If you are in any doubt, simply check with the club before you travel or book tee times by emailing, faxing or posting them a copy of your handicap certificate.

How do I show my golf handicap to a golf club, event organiser or friends in advance of playing?

You can very easily present your handicap to clubs, event organisers and friends in advance of play by setting your Handicap Security to Public via your Profile Settings and emailing them a web link to your Handicap Certificate page. Alternatively you can download the .pdf version of your handicap certificate from the Handicap page and email or print and post/fax it to the club.

I am playing in a Club Open Championship. Will my golf handicap be accepted?

If you are playing in a golf club’s open championship, as a matter of course, you should always check with the club before you enter that it accepts your golfshake.com Handicap for the competition. This is because some golf clubs may only accept handicap certificates issued by other golf clubs to club members for their Open Championships.

Do you work out golf points for rounds played ?

Yes, we use the British stableford points scoring system to calculate golf points played for each of your rounds. The feature is also used for the golf competitions.

Is a demo available ?

Yes, a demo account is now available !!

The golfshake.com site should work with any internet compatible browser. Please note that we are in the process of updating and testing with all browsers and Operating Systems.

Why can't I see the whole of the screen ?

The site is optimised for a screen resolution of 800*600 and above, anything less will not view fully.

My screen res is 800*600 but information is still off the screen ?

If you browse the internet and have your favorites or the search bar listed on the left handside this will reduce the window size, try closing these down.

How do I amend the details for my golf club if they are incorrect ?

Whilst on the "Club Information" page there is a link just under the course contact information:
If any of the above data is out of date or duplicated click here to notify us now.
Please record the information that is incorrect and click submit. We will then make the required changes.

How do I amend the tee information ?

Whilst in the Courses & Scorecard section of your club and the tee information is out of date, please enter a new tee by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page; Click here to add a new tee for XXXX Golf Club

Can I use golfshake.com if I am not in the UK ?

Yes, but at present the golf handicap system calculates handicaps based on the UK and USGA handicap systems. EGA and AGU golf handicap tracking will be added soon !

Can I track rounds with my friends ?

Yes, you can either create a golf competition and enter rounds for you and your golf buddies, or create your own golf society or golf group and track and compare rounds.

Will your golf system cope with my golf society ?

Yes, you can create a golf society/group to store all your golf society's competitions and track golf player performance, golf competitions and your own society leaderboard, as well as post your group news, pictures, results and chat!
