If you had ever used the site to enter a round or post a useful forum then you may have got more replies.

Although some might be interested in your accomodation, i for one would rather keep this site used for its intended purpose !!!!

Well Derek - at approx £10k per day for renting your place out during the open, I'm afraid you are not going to get much interest on this site, its way out of our league.

What exactly made you reply in that manner Tim ? Was it the fact that Derek was trying to make a bob or two? or was it the amount that bothered you ?

What if he had been selling a putter for £80 that he bought for £50 ?

As for keeping the site for what it was intended - the post was in a forum titled "Cottages, Apartments, and Villas to rent"

I have been unable to read the original post but from the replies get the general gist of it. I live in Ramsgate and am Marshalling at the Open. The local paper recently run an article in  which it was claimed that homes were being rented for upto 25K for the week. And its not only the rental market that are manipulating the fact that we have a major event in our "town" the local golf courses are also inflating their prices out of the reach of the average joe. I know of 2 courses that are advertising green fees in excess of £200 and you can only go if you have paid for a 4 ball.

This forum category is obviously to promote villas, properties etc but I know a lot of members just use the active posts and actually ignore categorisation.  The idea with the category is also to allow active members to post classified ads style rather than commercial businesses.
