Really, really chuffed with my Go Kart. Outstanding customer service, stupidly I managed to break the scorecard protective cover off the top of the trolley - completely my fault remember. I emailed them told them it had broke and I had a new one, the next day! 2 year warranty on the trolley, 1 year on the battery (18 hole battery does last 27 holes though) If it ever breaks they'll pick it up (free) lend you another one (free) until yours is repaired! They are really quick as well compared to any powercaddy or motocaddy I've ever used when hiring on holiday. All in all, buy one - get bright green or orange!

I bought a Go Kart with an 18 hole battery just after Christmas. They emailed a few weeks later and said, because of the bad weather, the 2 year warranty wouldn't start until 1st april. I bought it with an 18 hole battery - I've done 36 hole days four times with it this summer and it's still been going strong at the end. They used to say buy one and you can use it and return it within 28 days if you're not completely satisfied, don't know if they still do. Can't say fairer than that in my opinion. |

Gavin, not sure you will get a 100% recommendation but will definitely get some differences of opinion. With reference to Stew's reply, this is a link to Mike's Smart Caddy which is pretty much ready to launch I think. http://www.golfshake.com/news/view/1664/Sneak_Peak_Smart_Caddy_Remote_Cont

Another one recommending Go-Kart, had mine for over a year now. Chris I did exactly the same with the scorecard holder on mine, but I haven't bothered replacing as I didn't use it anyway. Customer service is top notch, one thing to note on the 2 year warranty is that during the 2nd year the customer has to pay £20 to ship the trolley to and from Go-Kart, or if it's a small diy repair they will send the parts out to do it yourself. |

Hi Gavin My name is Mike Lomas. My company is www.smartcaddy.co.uk We are based in Nottingham and sell what we beleive to be the most contemporary and also the lightest trolley on the market. I played in the north west qualifier on sat,not my best 1st nine I have to say, it was a tremendous event and I played with 2 guys from Halewood golf society who were just brilliant. I would be pleased if you would take a look at my website and let me know what you think. Deliveries are going out as we speak, plus if you you like to see one before buying I will gladly bring one over for you to have a go with. Mike |

Hi Mike, just had a look at youre website and have to say that I am pretty impressed! However, having a Go Kart myself and knowing the customer service is top notch I would have to recommend them - not least as you could buy 4 Go Karts for the price of one that you have designed. Good luck for the future though! D |

I bought a Pwerbug Sport x (x=36 hole battery) off fleabay for £130 brand new. Although controls are simple and basic it does well what is designed to do. It still pulls like a train after 18 holes on my home course which is extremely hilly. I suppose it comes down to how much one wants to spend at the end of the day. regards, Michael. |

Hi I repair trolleys, so feel I have an inside view of reliability, performance etc. In general you get what you pay for and you need to be able to find support when you need it. You can therefore rule out most trolleys from new internet startups and (in general) Chinese copies. Unless you are well off, you would do well to avoid bells and whistles and buy a basic trolley. A new controller for a robotic trolley can cost 3 times as much as one for a basic version and faults can be harder to find leading to high labour costs for repair. If you want SatNav, buy it seperately, the trolley will cost less to purchase, and less to repair and you can keep the Nav unit when you trade in the trolley. Over the years that I have been repairing trolleys the most reliable I have found to be the Powakaddy Freeway and Classic. Not quite so reliable are the HillBilly All Terrain and Compact. However Hillbilly's superb customer service make these models as desirable as the PK Freeway. Think twice before buying a trolley made of Aluminium if it has a single long handle/or support, the stresses may eventually cause it to break. A trolley without clutches (the trolley should freewheel when pushed without the motor on) can be difficult to steer and you may stress it trying to make it turn left or right. For a second hand trolley all the models named above offer proven reliability and ease of repair and service. As always avoid very old or worn out models if you are not handy. Unfortunately the manufacturers have updated and the only model still available in it's simple original form is the PK Freeway which must be my choice for a new trolley from a long standing UK supplier. I am not yet in a position to evaluate the newer models from PK or Hillbilly but suspect that they may not be as reliable or robust as the models mentioned. Coming back the the mostly Chinese budget options. The Chinese have copied most of the models available in the UK. In general they are not as good as the originals and support rapidly fades away. By far the most copied model is the PK Freeway. I have repaired many of these copies and some are OK providing you wish to take the risk of having a limited life due to lack of spares when it fails. For me the best of these is the Enery/Lucas trolley. At half the price of a new Freeway they come close in terms of performance and have several firms offering repair in the UK. This is just my opinion. I have only mentioned trolleys I would recommend. There may be many low volume fine products out there. Ask people who have used trolleys for at least a couple of years at your course. You will get local info on support and an idea of performance in your own local conditions. I have no association with any of the manufacturers mentioned above but have sold new Energy trolleys and second hand trolleys of other makes in the past. Good Luck Ted

Just get a Stewart and forget worrying about anything else :-) They have just released a new one with Lithium battery and remote etc.. Aftersales is excellent and mine has lasted four years and over 1100 rounds. I had a good powakaddy before and it did not compare. I think they all have their faults so quick access to spares and efficent after sales is a lot more important than you might imagine

Golfstream Revolution, why? Its the only trolley on the market where every component and part is british engineered, fabricated, built. No Chinese import rubbish, no cheap electrical components. A solid piece of kit that will perform for many many years. Get it with a Lithium Battery and you'll be trundling down the fairways for a Guareenteed 1000 rounds before you have to change the battery. |

I've got a motocaddy s3 and in my opinion its one of the best electric golf trolleys around and the most expensive at £399. Really depends on what your budget is.

| The new Powakaddy Sport looks really nice. Looks like they've listened to all of the bad feedback about the Freeway II controls as they have put the roller wheel back to control the speed.£649 with a Litium not a bad price & only £429 with a 36 hole standard battery. All I need now is for my old Powakaddy Sport Digital to break!!Darren,I don't think even I could justify £1k on a trolley? |
