Do they have to give everyone in the pub a pair of glasses???? aren't they quite expensive per pair? |

Sky are using anaglyphic transmissions so the glasses are cheaper the frame sequential method. However, as the two pictures needed to make up the 3D image are shown simultaneously on alternating lines on the screen your spanking new 1920x1080 HDTV will effectively only have a resolution of 1920x540. So there's a trade off between the screen size (as big as possible) and resolution (as small as possible), so not sure it's worth it just yet. Having said that, I've only just gone onto Sky+ and a flat screen - so a bit of a Luddite when it comes to TV.... |

I had thought about that........so they are basically using 1080i method but sending the two different 'frames' to different sets of 540 lines.....so in fact it is low def 3d |

I reckon you're right Lewis. So what happens if you lay on the sofa (like I have been known to), will the 3D effect reverse? Golf balls being hit in the distance bu coming towards you? Wooh, trippy! |
