Just watching the US PGA and its something I have noticed before but not really put any thought into. When players bring out note pads from there pockets.............what are they using it for? It surely cant be a course guide - on the 4th day (plus practice rounds) you must know your way around by now!! Its not the score card................so what is it.................... |

It's probably their own guide from the practice round, i often do it when i visit new courses to remind myself for next time i play there. I wrote down the hazards around the holes, the yardage, what clubs i should use, what's the green is like etc

Four days of competition = Four different Pin locations. In order to score well on Greens that run at +11 or more you need to be in the right position. The guys are just checking where the Pin is and where they want to be. TheLyth |

The Notepad is the Players Tournament Issue Yardage Book. Its a more in depth and detailed course planner. Created by Mark Long the man behind all the Players and Caddies Yardage Info. |
