And to think that Saunton..East and West courses, was one of the first 18 hole courses I ever played when starting out in golf.

I had a beer with a chap from Enville Golf Club last night and he was raving about Saunton being brilliant but tough.  Sounds like a good excuse to organise an event!

We play Clevedon Golf club(My old club in Somerset) on the way down on the Tuesday, play Saunton East on Wed am and Westward Ho PM . Thursday we play Saunton West and then drive home. Accommodation has already beeen booked for 12 players, but we are now one short.

I do recall you mentioning this trip a while ago.  If I had the time off and an understanding wife I would come!

Unfortunately I have neither.

John, couple of questions.

1. When are you playing Clevedon on the Tuesday?
2. Would it be possible to come for the Tuesday and Wednesday (and regrettably miss out on Saunton West on the Thursday)?

I come back from a week's holiday in Iceland on the Monday and am going to a wedding in Gloucester, 1230 kickoff on the Thursday, so I could conceivably take more time off work and squeeze the golf in. I really would love to, the courses look lovely.

Incidentally which of the two Saunton courses is the must-play, East or West?

We are playing at about 1130 am at Clevedon. 1000 hrs on Wed and Thur at Saunton and 4.00 pm at Westaward HO.

The must play is the Championship East course which we are playing first on the Wednesday, although the West is slightly shorter it is even more narrow than the East, so not  an easy challenge either

I won't be doing Westward Ho, John...

And if Govan comes...I won't be doing Saunton either
