Maybe a silly question...is there an advantage to buying an expensive glove? I seem to go through gloves...mabye one for every 4/5 rounds untill it seems to split somewhere round the sides...is this a common problem or is it because I tend to spend no more than a tenner on one? |

Personally Matt I use the Cabretta type rather than the all weather type, it's a fine leather which gives me increased feel with the club. They don't last longer than around 4 to 5 rounds but the confidence and comfortability they give me outweighs the cost. Probably down to whatever you think is best for you really. |

Matt,
going by your H/C....if accurate like me you are a hacker ( I mean that in the nicest possible way ) - an expensive glove will nearly always be better than a really cheap one!
but I would also ask you to check your grip on the club, I too was going through gloves quite quickly, I found that because my grip wasn't spot on especially at the base of the left hand, the butt of the club was either in the wrong place and/or it was moving around during the swing. This caused the glove to thin and tear over time. I've now decided just to go through the period of toughening up my hands and I now never use a glove unless I'm playing 36 holes in a day or spending a long to at the range |

Lweis I'd definately agree, however where the glove rips is not on the palm where the grip is. Its always down the side which toi me just stinks of cheapness. |
