Just been looking to see how many cards i have entered into the system since the begining of the year and counted 15 rounds so far this year, which is nearly one a week! A) Did not realise i was playing that much golf! B) Does that mean your handicap is a fair reflection of how you are playing? So my question is, who has entered the most cards into the system since the 1st January and is that persons handicap improving or not?

That's easy is will be Darren Atkinson he plays like 5 times a week and logs all his. |

Bit of a light-weight me then, have tracked 13 rounds, 3 muck-around ones with the locals here, 1 at the Abbey, 5 in the Algarve and 4 matchplays (but it was a bad winter). So only 26. Some people probably do that in a month (Dave Roth?). Having said that I think my current handicap is a fair reflection of how I'm playing considering that 8 of the tracked rounds have been on courses that I'd never played before. |

I would say that you are better than your current handicap, Tim. the improvement you have made has been pretty impressive. |

Thanks John, think I'm finally managing to get all the mechanics of my swing right (that's just the way I am), not trying to shape the ball or anything fancy just concentrating on hitting it straight. Slightly frustrated as well, because I know I've got a sub 80 in me somewhere, but I'm patient.. |

David Roth and Russ Middleton manage to find time for 3 rounds a week, check out profiles here - http://www.golfshake.com/community/playerspotlight/
Tim, well done on the handicap drop, it's about time you were better than just a bogey golfer! |

I should track all my rounds but find if I have a mare I am so disgusted with myself that the scorecard is ripped into a hundred little shreds and I have gone to the bar to wonder why I love this game! |

Anything I can do eh Hawkins. You're determined to keep track with me aren't you Have you had that weird "Oh bugger, I don't get a shot on this hole!" feeling for the first time yet? |

I've played 63 rounds of golf so far this year. This number doesn't include any matchplay games I've played or the one round that I played today and didn't keep my score, playing the monthly midweek medal and failed to score on a hole so can't put the score in! At the beginning of this year my handicap was 14 (13.8 exact) During this period of time I have managed to get my handicap down to 11 (10.9), this was at the beginning of February. My handicap today is 12 (12.3), not surprising as I've not been playing my best golf for the last four or five weeks! So yes, I have played plenty of golf and I have reduced my handicap, if only by 1.5 shots during this time. Russ

I've played 14 rounds to date. I would guess that those who play the most rounds (in general) are club members, so have prepaid their rounds for the year. I am secretary of our work society (every other Tuesday afternoon from March to October), and try to get a game the week in between also. I have said that I may stay as secretary next year for the 3rd and final year, as it's great playing new courses (I am up to 42 courses so far, and hope to be 50-55 by end of next year if still in the society - obviously we also play our regular favourites too) Part of the reason for going to join a club was to get an official handicap, but that is not so much an issue, seeing that I get one on this great site. After winning the Society yesterday with 33 points (this was from my Society handicap of 9, which is now down to 6!) my real handicap came down to 15.8. However plenty of these rounds early doors were in very boggy conditions, which did not assist scoring, or obviously little or no run on drives etc, and am confident/ hopeful of getting my handicap down to 13 or 14. My best score is 13 over par (twice), but I do not help myself taking over risky shots, which can be costly! We are playing a par 69 course in 2 weeks time, and it would be great to get/ break 80!
Cheers
