Greetings, I am a mental game coach from Hillingdon in Middlesex. I am trying to gauge the potential interest for mental game coaching in the world of golf (UK.) Having worked as a youth and community worker for the last twenty years, most of my applied psychology practice has been working with children and young people. I was able to help many children who were stressed out, required learning support or wanted to improve their sports performance. I soon discovered that many of the people I worked with were able to dramatically improve their sports performance in a short space of time. I am particularly interested in working with golfers who suffer from the yips and would like to be yip-free. I can offer free mental game coaching for up to 6 golfers, all I ask in return is for a referral to one golfing buddy and or a testimonial for my website (under construction.) I can specifically help with the following: Learning how to visualize Learn how to hypnotize yourself De-stress for a game or performance Reduce or eliminate fear, doubt, uncertainty and blocks Clear and release past game shocks, disappointments and traumas Eliminate performance related anxiety or “stage” fright Goal setting and goal getting Increase peripheral vision and range of motion Explode confidence dramatically Prepare for surgery and heal injuries quickly Developing clear mental game performance strategies Improve golf performance and shoot lower scores Enjoy your golf more! I look forward to receiving your replies Tony "The real fun of golf is in improvement." — Ben Hogan |

Hi Tony. I'd be interested, I'm also quite interested in NLP - are any of your techniques based on this? It also sounds like it could help me more generally in the corporate world with general leadership development. Drop me a line and let me know when your kicking things off. |

Hi Matt, it's good to hear from you. My personal life as well as the majority of the tools and techniques I use are strongly influenced with NLP. I did my first NLP training about 15 years ago and I have trained with Tad James, John Seymour, David Shepherd, Paul Jacobs, Sid Jacobson and Ian Mc Dermott. I also combine NLP with EFT to achieve maximum results as quickly as possible. You are quite right, mental game coaching can be used with great effect in the business and corporate worlds as well as sport. I would be happy to do what I can to assist you in acieving personal, business or sporting goals and you can choose which area you would like to begin with. If you would like to send me an email to tony@swiftpsychology.com including your telephone number I will give you a call and we can get the ball rolling as soon as you like. Tony |

Hi Tony, How will you be delivering your sessions. im a big beliver in the mental side of the game. At one point last year i was petrified when i stood over the ball not wanting to swing at all. I did have some chats with a therapist that dabbled in the sports side and it did help, she offered to hypnotise me but i chickened out of that i didnt let her get me fully under but let her do her talking and it did seam to work. |
