Temporary Greens - Hertford Area

I'm looking for a different course to play, but don't really want to turn up and find that there's loads of temporary greens.

Has anyone played Stevenage / Blakes / Cheshunt / Manor of Groves or anywhere else in the area that could let me know the situation with Greens / Tees / general drainage.

I played Nazing last Friday and all greens and tees where in operation despite the rain.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

I've played Blakes, it's fairly open so if the winds blowing you'll know it, but worth a visit.

What about the Hertfordshire?

Thanks Russ, I played Blakes just before xmas and it was blowing a gale there. Made the 8th fun but strangely managed to hit it closer to the pin than ever before!!!.

I phoned a few of the courses this morning to assess the state of play. 2 holes shut at Cheshunt, 4 temp greens at Stevenage, pretty booked up at Whitehills before 11am so I opted to play Panshanger in the end. Glad I di, it was my first time out and hit a respectable (for me) 97, despite losing my bottle and taking a 7 on both the 17th and 18th. All greens were open and it was a really nice course for a municipal. Will definately go back there and may even make it my course to join.

Didn't think of the Hertfordshire - I might give that a go next Friday
