Am I the only one or do other people have a period where they seem to go into more bunkers than normal?

I have found that my golf goes in trends.

I will go four or five rounds where I won't go in any bunkers and then the next two or three rounds I might as well take a bucket and spade!

I played at Risebridge GC on Monday and I managed to find six greenside bunkers in the first nine holes, what are the odds on that?

Now I'm not bad at my bunker play but I don't normally get many sand saves, so staying out of the bunkers would be a big advantage to me.

Wouldn't read too much into it - could just be a day when your tugging everything right 10 yards. A lot of holes on my course have greenside bunkers to the right of the green for example, so on a day that I'm tugging stuff 10 yards right, I will be hitting every bunker instead of the green.

I tend to find that if i play a good bunker shot early in the round I won't frequent the sand again.  Fail to get out in one and I'll go in every bunker on the course.

Likewise, Russ, some rounds I never venture into the sand, other rounds I'm permantly throwing the stuff all over the fairways and greens.

Have to put it down to one of those days (again).

Just avoind a the greensides on 3 and 11 on the Abbotts Russ, about 1cm of sand in those.
