Duvals mistake in my view was switching from titliest to nike although he did win the open with nike at royal st lytham with a great display of golf over the weekend.Best golf swing to watch by a mile.

I agree, Nicholas, he does indeed have a great golf swing. I have always been an admirer, but one needs more than a good swing to win tournaments.

I have always maintained that it is the player and not his equipment that produces the golf, even more so for players of high ability, like David Duval. He should be able to play with anything.

Agreed, at that level, the only equipment change which would make a difference is the equipment between the ears.

Without belief and desire, even armed with the best swing in the world he would not win tournaments IMO.

One must also remember Duval came joint second in the us open at one of the hardest courses in the world, with  three mud balls which probably cost him the tournament, not bad for a man who has been out the game for so long.

I think that switching brands can be a problem. Els was Titleist's star player and he has not performed since moving to sorry Callaway!  Maybe he's not old enough to swing them yet!!
