Hi, my son is 11 and we regularly play a local 9 hole together. Can anyone advise me on what the highest handicap for a junior is ? He is quite competetive and we want to have a bit of a father vs son competition just for fun, but for this I need to know how many shots to give him.

I would say give him enough shots to give him a chance of beating you. You don't need an official handicap to play a match between the two of you. You will soon know when you are giving him too many. |

Thanks guys, not interested in an official handicap for him, just need a starting point to make our golf more interesting. I'll start him off on 56, then after he's mullered me on the first couple of rounds, I'll start cutting it down. |
