Dave's Balls 2009 - And the winner is......

Played this morning and hit a respectable 96 but lost Chris Perry on the par 5 9th and then Chris Waterworth lasted until the par 3 15th. So 12 srixons lost after playing a total of.............................

1,027 shots!

So, I declare that Paul Hudson with a guess of 1,012 is the winner!

Special mention to Chris Waterworth who not only was the last ball, but also came quite close with his guess!

And so a new champion is born, and a special golf ball is being designed as we speak! Arrangements are in place for the prize ceremony (I think the O2 Arena may have a spare date this year......)

1. Paul Hudson     1012

2. Andy Kenyon     1001

3. Paul Everett       998

Glad I lasted as long as I did Dave.  Hope that next year's comp goes through the summer and you're closer to 2,000 that 1,000

Dave, if you were to play your competition at Sherfield Oaks in the summer it will all be over in a couple of rounds.

Sorry John, I'm not sure I understand you.

The details of the YMCA Charity Match are under the Games & Events tab. I've sent both Darren and Tim entry details.

Is that what you mean?

I think he means whether or not you have the tee times and groups who are playing in this event. I notice that my team is short of the two players we had last year, but not heard anything about replacements or even if Tim has made an entry.

No tee times as yet - still chasing teams and participants!

Tim is still entering two teams (and very generously agreed to pay for both in full, even though they may not be 4balls) and Darren's still bringing the 'shakers!

Will update all as soon as I know more.

Obviously, anyone interested in attending this event (either as a team, or individual) can still enter! PM me or look for the event in the Games & Events section (I'd put a link in but cannot understand how to do it!)

Congratulations on making those balls last so long, but I would like a recount!

I'm also sorry that I guessed too high, obviously I didn't take into account the weather conditions.

I grudgingly offer my position to Mr Williams.  No chance of retaining second place now......

As last years champion I am happy to hand over the Title (until next year ) to Paul Hudson.

Just don't get too excited about the prize Paul

lol thanks wayne!!!

what is extra special about this thread is that a 27.2 handicap can play over 1000 shots on 12 balls. i lose that a round,  is dave playing on a course with no trees no water and no where to lose balls!!!

 really well played

Thanks Paul, but my normal course is a little forgiving compared to most - with no water to worry my balls, I only have to mind some of the very rough rough!
