Hi All,

First post on this forum and I'm hoping for some help/advice.

I am flying to Glasgow arriving Sunday lunchtime, and I have a work colleague with me from New Zealand who has never played links golf before....well you can't go to Scotland and not play a round can you?

Can anyone recommend a links track -that we can get on on a Sunday afternoon, within an hour of Glasgow? I was hoping to get on West Kilbride but even my pleadings for a 4 o c tee time was (politely) refused as no non members on a Sunday....

He plays off 4 and I'm a 16 handicapper.

Hope someone can give some advice!

 Many Thanks

 Jim

Go for history, try Preswick or even Troon.

Thanks for your pointers and recommendations chaps - have played at Prestwick before - a great track and great starter,  caddies. etc Really friendly and oozes history. Absolutely brilliant course.

I have worked in search engine marketing for 10+ years now so finding the maps/names of clubs isn't the challenge(although thanks for highlighting how good search engines are now ) what I was hoping for was some local insight into a good course that would let two non members on on a Sunday

I guess I'll work the phonebook....

I'll let people know how i get on

Cheers
