 am new to all this,just looking for golf partners in wickford/basildon area.

 not been playing long just local 9 holers so want to up my game as i get older!

Hi Pete, welcome to the site.

You could keep an eye on the comps coming up in Essex or just search through to see who else plays in your neck of the woods. There are some good, cheap courses around the Basildon / Wickford area.

To really up your game you should also consider some lessons from a pro, if you haven't already, as these will start you on the correct course (pardon the pun) before too many bad habits creep in.

 yup have been to local range and spoke to pro about lessons so just need to save up a few quid-£35 for half hour about average i guess?

Top Meadow is a decent course Pete and easy enough to get to from the A13.
