Ok everyone, we are off!

Just a little bit of info before we start. I tend to play every other week (but hopefully more this year!), so keep coming back here to check for updates. Due to a change of job, I may not get to play for three weeks, so don't worry if nothing seems to be happening for a bit - I'm just keeping you all in suspense.

So here are the entrants (Names in bold have a ball with their name on it - if your crossed out, then you've been lost - but are still in the competition - If you're name is coloured then you are out of the running.)

Chris Perry       1235

Kevin Hewitt     1153

Richard Lane-Blackwell   1341

Russell Middleton   1152

Stuart Neville       753

Gary Samwell     856

John Flood       1178

Chris Waterworth  1114

Paul Williams       1279

Robbie Allison     964

James Illsley       976

Gary Allen       913

Tony Dunn       916

Jon Williams     1450

Danny Brant       969

Andy Kenyon     1001

Lee Miller         2011

Paul Everett       998

Wayne Santorini   989

Lorna Nichols       888

Tom Jenkins     1390

Paul Hudson     1012

Stuart Govan     1000

Stephen Falcus  1139

Duncan Wall   700

David Marshall 669

Update! 10th March! A poor 105 shots today, losing Chris P to Ian's bag therefore:

200 strokes with 9 Srixons left!

Update! 25th March! I'm going through a bit of a fallow period! Another poor show, scoring 114 today. Off the tee with James I, hooked it OB and thought it was lost - so Stuart N comes out the bag. Playing the 3rd, and the group behind knew how I mark my balls and gave me back James I (rule 2b applies)! James I goes back in the bag, but I lose Stuart N to my playing partner! So:

314 strokes with 8 Srixons left!

Update! 8th April! A solid 95 today and Gary A came out of the bag. He did me proud (apart from a nasty 9 on the 17th) - so well in fact that I won Chris P back! So:

409 strokes with 9 Srixons left!

Update! 11th April! A short outing on Upper Sappey's par 3 9 hole course with my son and Gary A's still in on form. Another 41 shots.

450 strokes with 9 Srixons left.

Update! 20th April! The Garys have gone! Gary A hooked into the rough with my second shot on the Par 5 9th and Gary S lost to "New Dad Duncan" after losing the game with a 10 on the penultimate Par 3! 105 shots.

555 strokes with 7 Srixons left.

Update! 30th April! A sound 92 this morning. John F was out the bag and playing well until I hooked him into a bush on the 5th. So, James I is back out and stayed with me, helping me keep my score down. Well done James I!

647 strokes with 6 Srixons left.

Update! 12th May! A struggle today with 111 more shots to add to the total. Lost James I with a slice into the woods on the Par 3 6th! So, Robbie A's out the bag and was looking like going to my playing partner's bag until a final flourish at the last two holes where I managed to overhaul a 5 stroke deficit!

758 stokes with 5 Srixons left!

Update! 28th May! A reasonable 99. Robbie A played very well, until a nasty slice on the 16th sent him went over the path and into the woods. Russel M cam out and is still with me.

857 strokes with only 4 balls left!!

Update! 10th June! 99 shots again (keep hitting it into the sand, and they struggling to get out!). Anyways, Russel M got lost in the rough, and Richard L-B got lost in Duncan's bag! So.....

956 strokes with just 2 balls left!!!

Played this morning and here's the results:

Hit 95 strokes and lost Paul W and Kevin H! Sorry guys, but Paul W in particular played very well until I hooked him into the trees and out of bounds! Kevin H was lost to my playing partner!

So,  95 strokes with 10 Srixons left!

It's contentitious Chris, but I like it!

Rule 2(B) amended - If a ball that has been lost on the course during a round and is then subsequently found, it becomes not lost.

Rule 2(C) amended - If a ball that has been lost in a wager and is subsequently won in a wager, then it becomes not lost.

Rule 2 Exemption - once the competition is officially closed, then all balls will be classed as lost from that date even if they become not lost in the future.

I could be wrong here Matt but I see it that there are two games:

A. How many shots does Dave play with said balls

B. Which ball wins (he has marked the balls with GS members)

The naming of the ball is just a personal thing, the idea is to guess how many shots he will have taken before all 12 have gone.

ps

I won the last one he did and duly collected my prize at Ombersley GC (a well smacked Commando golf ball

So the number is for how many strokes for that box.  And the name is a sub competition for that box of balls. i.e. if he loses your named ball, you are still in the how many balls all sseason competition (until your guess is surpassed!).

 My head now hurts

As Wayne states Matt, this competition is to guess how many shots I will take until I lose my 12 Srixons.

The naming bit is just a sideshow (actually came about after a post about how naming your ball helps you not to lose them!)

Matt, I'm sorry but according to Rule 7, no new entries can be entered.

But as soon as I lose the remaining ones I'll start it all again!

Oh, and bump!

Oh, and keep the arguing off my thread gentlemen or else I instigate Rule 15b (section F)!

Rule 15b (section F) states:

Any non-competition related discusions being discussed on the discussion thread, whether discussing non-competition related discusions, or non-related competition discussions will not be discussed on the competition discussion thread (as defined by Rule 1.c).

If any competitors, or non-competitors, are found discussing non-competition related discussions on the discussion thread, then a discussion will be held (not on the competition thread) to discuss the discussion. This thread will be entitled "The Discussion Thread" and will only be used to discuss the aforementioned discussion - non discussion discussions will be deleted.

If, after discussing the discussion, the decision is made that the discussion (discussion a) has breached the discusssion rules (as set out in the seperate "Discusssions" Strategy Document) then all discussion will be discontinued, and a discussion hearing held.
