Helps if you stand on the floor and not the wall |

I know i know. Had a new camcorder and took my son up the range he insisted on having it parallel as on the view finder was able to get the whole swing in shot. Have since attempted to film on my own, but need a decent camera man as there's only a short space between the end of the bay and back wall of the range. Taking camcorder to the Belfry on Friday, Can't reveal to much but Tim Hawkins and myself have a plan and can't resist getting it on camera to put on here next week. All i can say to you is "stroppy golfers" So will get better footage then, and will be able to show my slice in its entirety. But saying that Darren, i think i did pretty well to stand on the wall and produce that swing, I tried to rotate them clockwise without success, do you know how to rotate them. Paul |

Didn't want a 4hr video shot where everyone logged off after the first 5 mins. As i said new camcorder, so getting to grips with it. Will have more footage tonight with the aid of a decent camera man. |

Paul, My thoughts. You look quite bent over in your stance. Your driver swing set up looks a bit closed with your feet aiming well to the right. I agree with Dave your tempo is very good, John. |

Dave L and John F. Below is the response I made to Paul when he sent me the video by email before he posted this thread. Amazing that you have both come up with the same answers. Hi Paul. Impossible to offer any constructive advice as I could not get into the right position to see everything clearly. The tempo of the swing was lovely, only wish I had that myself. It appeared that you were reaching for the ball and I would like to see a more upright posture to correct this. Feet looked closed which is not a bad thing but the shoulders looked open which probably accounts for the slight fade of the ball. It will only take me a few minutes to set you up correctly and get you to swing on plane. This game is really that simple. It is us that make it complicated. You certainly appear to have the potential to be a much better player than your scores are suggesting. See you at the Belfry. Regards John

John, I must have inherited your eye for the perfect set up John. |

My eyes at the moment cannot see, John. |

Have you both got a cricked neck like me. |

Yes, David, was hoping to get it corrected on your Explanar sometime. I did ask Paul to send me the video file and I would have corrected it to an upright one for him, but he did not send it to me. |

Hi Paul, my humble observations: as mentioned the crouching (get a 1 or 3 iron andline it up down your spine, make sure you neck and behind makes contact and you'll have a good posture) and the reaching (have you ever had a problem with shanking? as that's how I foolishly tried to remedy it). You have a v full backswing but I think you deal with that well as your swing is fluid. Just one point I'd make is don't concentrate on seeing where the ball is going as soon as you hit it, keep your eyes on the tee and your follow through will be a lot tidier and may help for a straighter ball. |

Not that I know much but looked slight overswing and too crouched over, other than that quite good. I'm going to post a new couple of Vids of mine in the next couple of days - one in slo mo, one in real time, then a fun one in realtime where I lace the sh*t out of it. |

John will be sending the original to you once i sort out an issue i have with my sd card. When i first loaded onto p.c. the only way i could view it was through youtube as i was getting a message saying code error with data. So still trying to sort it out, once i have done this i will send it to you. With regard to "reaching for the ball", yesterday i attempted to play with a more upright/closer set up and guess what? My driving was 100% better on the previous weeks effort. My pro had put me back a little in an attempt to give me more room to swing through better. I obviously have took this adjustment a little to far. Thank you for all your comments. Paul. |
