Thanks from me as well.  I now know the work that can go into organising one of these things so Darren and Luke, your efforts are appreciated.  Hopefully you'll be able to play in the next one Darren.

Oh, and a small request.  After Hollins Hall and a course where one of the holes is named "Cardiac Hill", can you book the next one at somewhere that doesn't require you to be a mountain goat?

Have posted the CD of the 103 photos taken at the event to Darren to upload.  Only one of them is not very good (out of focus etc which is the one of me being presented with my prize and was taken by someone else.....

Thanks from me aswell Darren and Luke on a another great event, and another good choice of venue - the back nine might have been a bit of a climb at times but the views, especially from the 13th greeen, were quite spectacular. The quirkiness of the back-nine was reflected in my equally quirky card - 19 points with 3 blobs!!

I look forward to seeing the photos once they have been uploaded.

Will definitely try and make the next event.

Up to your usual tricks then. Kevin, taking nine holes to warm up before starting to play the golf you are capable of.

Pleased you enjoyed your day, David, I expect you were striking it as well as ever. I am still on crutches unfortunately, but hoping for some time next month to get the bats out again, ready for our visit to South Winchester.

Well - thanks John, I actually had a reasonable front nine as well for a change! 19 points with 2 1-pointers and 3 3-pointers, but the highlights of the round - the "Hartleys Jammy" bits were on successive  holes  nailing a 55 footer for birdie, then hitting the pin with a chip resulting in a tap-in par, then chipping in from 40 yards for birdie and then stiffing my tee shot to 3 feet on "Cardiac Hill" and holing for birdie. Perhaps the enjoyment of watching Padraig play so well of late was rubbing off!!

Sounds like you played well, Kevin. 38 points must have been in with a shout.

Yes John I did - if with more than my fare share of luck, and walked off with the first prize so I am now the first Golf Shake Open Champion.

Thanks Jon but the gross and net score is a bit puzzling :: thinks::

I'm sure that I did better than that gross score - I think I'll have words with Darren and/or Luke about this as my handicap should be going down as a consequence of scoring 38 points - don't you agree.

Wow, 9th -- unheard of for me! Think the lesson is to just turn up on the day rather than use up all my luck on the pre-match round!

Darren, it was a brilliant event as usual, many thanks for organising it and look forward to the next one and seeing the usual faces and some new ones.

I was doing my Frank Spencer bit, and was having a spot of trouble. My approach shots were just plain rubbish.

Still, didn't lose a single golf ball over the 2 rounds.

Don't know what happened to my boy...No doubt he could explain better

Funniest thing that happened on Monday (apart from Kev's trick shots) was,  I'm in the first group out and the fourball in front of us consisted off 4 elderly ladies ,0ne of which was 85yrs old and pulling a trolley. I think the combined age was around 290-300yrs. They walked in after nine and i thought they might be tired, but no .The reason they walked off was they had to wait on every hole for the fourball in front of them, four young guys, go figure.

Not so funny for the ladies i know .

Thanks Bill and Geoff and I'd like to thank you too for what was a very pleasurable game played in the true spirit of golf, save the odd jammy putt and chip!
