Ok im newish to golf but now looking to take it up more regular. Im playing with an old set of pinseekers and looking at getting a new set of iron to help progress.

So far im looking at a set of MD'S superstrong tungsten Ti2 irons for £160 brand new.

I have also seen a set of good condition 2nd Macgregor m675 forged irons for £130.

My handicap is 28 as i have only been playing on 9 holes. Now im starting the 18 holes after feeling confident enough hopefully my handicap will go down.

Which seems the better option?

M675's are blades aren't they?  With your handicap I'd go for the MD's....

Try as many as you can that are within your price bracket (preferably on a range rather than on a monitor) and see which ones you like the feel of and work best for you.  Don't be swayed by the name, something all beginners can put too much weight on (something I have been guilty of as well).  Some clubs suit some players better than others and this is why you need to try as many as possible.  See if a range/shop near you has a demo day planned where you can try lots of different kinds.

It comes down to personal choice and remember, you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it.

As Chris said above don't be swayed by the name, I bought a set of Taylormade RAC HT clubs after my first six months playing I love them to bits, but at Christmas I was lucky enough to grab a bargain from Argos, and got a complete set of Ryder clubs for my son, they were reduced from around £100 to £15, I bent my Taylormade 5 iron, and so borrowed my sons Ryder 5 Iron while my own is being mended, I am hitting the Ryder slightly further than the Taylormade, as the cavity is not as deep on the Ryder club, so as stated above, if you can try a few different makes, beofre buying do so and don't be put off by the name.
