Hi All,

I've set up a round of golf for a mates stag do this weekend. I wanted to set up a closest the pin comp on one hole. What the best way to do this? I guess I need a marker, but should every player mark it? & what marker to use. I guess a post it note would be no good!

 Cheers

 Paul

Usually an A5 bit of paper attached to a sturdy piece of card or board on a bit of cane or pole should do the trick. Generally the only players who need write on it are those that land inside the marker. Obviously if you play and your ball is outside the marker and the hole, then there's no point you writing on the sheet.

Don't forget to include a tape measure as well Paul.

Ask the Pro at the course your playing Paul, they're usually well set up for this sort of thing!!!!

Scorecard and tee peg work fine. Send it out with the 1st group. Nearest player to hit the green in that group writes his name on the card, and shoves the peg through it next to his ball. If none of em hit the green, then no name is marked, and the card is left on the fringe at the front of the green. Last group through picks it up. Simple and effective.

Like wayne said, ask the  pro/club. I know at ours they supply them, maybe at a small cost. They even sell them.

I have seen metal coat hangers and clothes pegs used in the past
