North vs South 2014 - update

Event, date, venue, captains, tee times - all now confirmed !

A few minor things still to finalise in terms of extra 9 holes and final format but we are excited to say the event is now 100% confirmed for October - the week after the Ryder Cup !!!

I really enjoyed last year, however sadly I wont be able to make it this year. For me to come up from the south coast it was worthwhile as a 2 day event.

Hopefully next year if it is able to revert back to the 2 day format. Good luck team south :-)

That's a shame Nigel, I enjoyed playing with you last year. I'm not sure yet whether I'll make it this year either. The September date fell on my birthday, which would have been great, but now it falls on my wife's birthday!

Hi Nigel, the decision to do the 1 day was just to get the event confirmed due to our ongoing organisation hassles!

However, quite a few people are planning to stay over on the Sunday night and I believe the local Premier Inn is only £39 for a twin room. Once numbers are confirmed for those booking their own accommodation it's likely we'll organise something on the Sunday.

I also enjoyed playing with you last year Nigel, shame we wont be able to pair up again this year. I think I will probably just be driving up for the day, hopefully now with a partner recruited locally.

Great so I register for the golf shake events and they both get cancelled one at short notice then I come on to see what is going on only to find chat about who is going to the north south event and I donot even get any information after getting a email to say the south event was cancelled and that info on the north south event would follow in ten minutes and still I wait

This is now 100% confirmed at the Warwickshire on Monday 6th October which includes 27 holes Coffee & bacon rolls on arrival, Golfshake good bag and Official Team Polo Shirt (New Under Armour Performance Polo).

Format/Schedule

Monday 6th Oct at The Warwickshire

08:00-08:45 - Registration and coffee and bacon rolls

09:00-10:12 - 9 holes greensomes (Earls course back 9)

11:00-12:30 - Lunch

12:00-13:12 - 18 holes fourballs (Kings course)

17:45-18:15 - Team Presentations

Sunday Golf/Sunday overnight stay

As mentioned previously to ensure the event was confirmed the decision was taking to not sort out a 2 day event this year with an overnight stay.

For anyone that may be traveling or still wish to stay over I do know quite a few people planning to stay over on Sunday night nearby at a local Travel Lodge/Premier Inn. Therefore it's likely we will organise something on the Sunday as well.

If anyone is looking for accomodation for the night before there is a training centre in Kenilworth which is about 3 miles from the Warwickshire which offers comfortable accomodation at a reasonable price on a Sunday night. It looks like you can get bed and breakfast for £52 in a double or twin room.
