Went to my local ranges Friday night but decided to go in the "free" field and bunker rather than the range intself. When I got there the grass had been cut and just left which meant any reasonable distance shot would result in a lost ball so, I decided to walk the field just doing wee knocks with a gap wedge - result I found 10 decent balls includin a pro v1 x.

Yesterday playing my usual casual knock and looking for my partners balls I found a further 16 balls 5 of which were on one hole...

Now I ask - Is that some kind of a ball finding record over a weekend or have you done better - what's your best ball find...

When it gets busy on my course, which is usual during the Summer, I tend to get fed up with the slow play so I go on a ball hunt. I have a telescopic ball retreiver, which is fantastic for getting balls out of prickly hedges. There are also several hot zones aound the course, where people try to cut the corners of dog legs these dog legs have SEVERE rough and I have totally lost count of the balls I have found in there.

I always keep the good brands, chuck the Top Flites back onto the fairway and give my friends the brands they like.

Not sure about numbers of balls found. But, my son now has over 50 Nike and Titleist NXT's all of which I have found and are all pristine one hit wonders. There have been times when I have had to empty the side pockets of my golf bag as I have so many golf balls in there I can barely lift the bag.

With out doubt the best ball finding day is Monday.

too true - im just waiting for my brother to get back and then we're heading to the course to search.

recently broke my collarbone so limited movement - the walk will therefore do me good, plus the clubhouse only sells dozen balls of Ultra or ProV1's so there are literally hundreds of ProV1's out on the course

just a matter of walking out and about and you'll find plenty of good balls, nearly all in good nick

A mate of mine in Wales found 62 over a weekend last year, and that included 15 in one area of bushes

Love playing with him because I never lose any balls

In that case you had better get him to start a collection for you.

Cause when you lose your balls in the Algarve....You're on your own, Buster.

And I don't mean just the ones you hit with a golf club ....If you get my drift?

I played Lydd golf course a few years back. I had an ear infection, and a hangover. I lost 10 balls over 9 holes, then went home. I managed to birdie one par 3 in with that too.

If I had lost 10 balls in 9 holes, I would have gone home too..  And then shot myself !
