Great Value for money
Underrated course in Essex - I've played a number of local courses and quite a few of them don't live up to the green fees tbh. You won't be disappointed going round this 9-hole course twice. PS: one of the more challenging Par 5's I've ever played.Reviewer Rating

Challenge for any level. Almost every hole has different layout. Has a nine hole par 3 course which is well above average. Then nine normal holes again with varying layouts. All in excellent condition. Normally no queues after 9:30 during the week.Reviewer Rating

One 9 hole and short par 3 course
Been regular at hobbs cross for years, two courses, one a small par 3 testing your short game and one full 9 hole course.Kept in great condition and variety of holes and a good test
Club do not allow bookings however and as such whole world descends at weekend and after work times meaning you can wait an age to tee off and pace is slow, would recommend on basis of good courses but get a booking system! Quite pricey can play an 18 locally for cheaper

Not very supportive for young children
My daughter and partner drove for half an hour to play a different and new course which had great reviews and was in lovely surroundings. On arrival they were told that my child couldn’t be caddied for by her dad (She weighs 4 stone so unable to carry her own bag for a long period of time), he had three of his own clubs in her bag so they could both play but were advised this wasn’t allowed due to COVID. Golf is a sport that is very social distanced. They have played many courses in the area since lockdown restrictions were lifted and it has never been mentioned, in fact it’s more encouraged as they can go out in their own bubble.
For an up and coming superstar, she was so upset and felt discouraged and has since said she will never ever play the course and will pass on her experiences to all at her current club and lessons.
Instead of them worrying about two family members playing on their own and sharing a bag, they should have been outside on the first tee where there was a huge queue and not much social distancing being adhered to.
She left disheartened but then drove to her regular course and done 9 holes without any fuss and shot a 33 on a par 27. Not bad for an 8 year old little girl.

Good course for beginners who are looking to start playing Golf. Also good for the kids. Does get a little busy at key times due to short holes.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 38 Handicap: )

Nice condition
Good course to get you out and swinging again. The condition was great and the greens were great, I did struggle to get the pace of them but that was not the fault of the course.(Round played: May 2020 - Score: 33 Handicap: )

Nice for practice but slow
Nice course, quite open so good to practice a few shots.Pace of play was awful though - which has put me off for good.
