The Sunshine Golf Club started in 1923 on a course called "The Rock and Thistle" located between Glengala Road and the Kororoit Creek Road in Sunshine (Melway map 40).
In 1964, the Club relocated west approximately 4km, to the Fitzgerald Road site in West Sunshine.
The Club moved to the new Mt Derrimut location in November 2007.
