Clandon Golf
Epsom Road, Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7AA United Kingdom
The concept of Clandon Golf is to provide a high quality, easy access 9 or 18 holes golf experience as you the customer dictates. The course has been designed for all level of golfers. Clandon Golf is not your traditional golf club and therefore we have no membership base.
In 2008 the construction of the front nine holes of the golf course commenced on a fantastic chalk based site 5 minutes from the centre of Guildford.
2009 saw the construction of the back nine. To further improve the base, where there was no chalk primarily around the quarry, thousands of tons of chalk was excavated and those areas capped, thereby ensuring consistency of playing surface and drainage. Above and beyond this, massive amounts of earth moving took place to create great golf holes. Three large teeing areas per hole, huge greens with tantalising slopes and the brand new Sportcrete bunker system.Book a Tee Time

The back 9 is now open and what a course this now is! This is easily the best value pay and play course in the area. They claim it is of the same standard as many of the best private clubs in Surrey and they definitely have every right to. The back 9 is probably harder than the front with a great big quarry coming into play on several of the holes. Choose a nice sunny day and the views across the surrounding countryside wont disappoint either!

Very open course on the front 9, which tightens up for 4 or so holes on the back around the 13th when the quarry starts to make an appearance. Nice views of London on a couple of holes, if you like that sort of thing.
The greens weren't the best I've played on, but i think that the time of year had something to do with that. They were very firm though, which was amazing given the rain the previous night. I would imagine that this course is playable for pretty much all of the year.
Only a portakabin for a clubhouse currently, so don't expect to sit down for a drink afterwards.
I got a deal on the price which made it a bit of a bargain, but I am not sure it is worth the cost of the normal green fees.

An absolute must play. Back nine around the old quarry is superb. Lovely views of the Surrey Hills throughout. Don't be put-off by the Portacabin clubhouse. Best pay/play in the area.

Quite excellent when you take into accounts it hasn't yet been open 2 years. Front nines good but really more of a warm up for the back, which has some of the most interesting holes around (especially around the quarry). Chalk though out which make such a huge difference in the winter months. Very enjoyable, defiantly one for the future.

Course is very open, most of the fairways are huge, you have to go a long way off-line to find any rough. High up so does get windy. Some interesting holes on the back nine. Quite tough 13th, which somehow has a SI of 5, and the 15th where you tee off over the quarry. Well kept for a public course. We enjoyed our round although it's not particularly challenging. No clubhouse or facilities, just a portacabin, so no chance of an after round pint and a bite.

Love this course, feels like I'm playing on PGA because of the holes being so well designed and they look amazing when standing on the tee, especially the 8th. Can't wait too get back up there soon
