nice local course

signed in as a visitor today, manager and staff were all very welcoming, members seemed friendly and helpful, feels like a nice local course, not too hard, great place to blow off the cobwebs and get a round in, not too hard so a good place for some friendly golf.

superb 9 green, 18 tee golf course

The first visit to this course. Once you have negotiated through the simple military entry regime you discover a challenging, flat golf course, with 9 greens, but 18 tee positions. For the time of year the course is in excellent condition. The course plays long, with many holes making you shape the shot around mature trees.

Disappointing

Could be a nice course but was in poor condition. Rough was too long and greens were in a sad state. It was a cheap round of golf but was disappointed with the presentation of the course!

Cheap but not so cheerful

Difficult to access, means of id. required and member to sign you in, security to be left at guardhouse to ensure you return the pass when you are finished playing, it only 10pounds which says it all. In April it was almost unplayable due to long grass everywhere, no clubhouse facilities, oob on every hole, tight fairways, small greens, not a lot recommend it

Took my 6 yr old son to play there, absolutely ideal for kids or people just starting out in golf, the greens & fairways are not perfect but I have played more established courses that are far worse than this, friendly staff, never found it an issue to get on the camp, all in all great value for money

On a military camp and very hard to get into. When you do get through the barriers the course is in poor condition. I for one will not recommend this place to anyone no matter how cheap the place is. You cannot even get a drink or food after your game. My advice is go and play on a golf course where you feel you have had value for money.

A nice open course with some tricky positioned tees. Lovely and quiet during the week

Played this course early September and it was in really great condition. This is hidden gem and I would recommend it to all golfers. A great mixture of holes and the layout is interesting. A course I will be playing again soon,

first time playing this course. good mix of short par 3's and good length par 4's. what stood out, other than the planes, were the challenging approach shots. well maintained, friendly people and superb value. need to arrange your visit prior given its location. recommended

Recently seperated from the RAF, this is now known as Henlow Golf Club. The course is built around th RAF base, and has 10 greens with 18 tees. 8 of the holes are played twice, with the extra green coming into play on the back 9, making up the 18 holes. Quite a flat course, but some interesting holes. Don't let the aeroplanes and gliders put you off!
