397th course!!

One of just a handful of courses in Devon that I had not visited, so although a long day trip, one I had to do!- Arrived after dinner and seemingly also after a Senior members morning, and the usual "bandit" scores were being counted! - Nice warm welcome and decided buggy usefully, especially with the offer price, and the fact that I had heard there were some stiff climbs. Overall, the course was a pleasure to play, and whilst a bit "back and forth" at times, all holes were fairly distinctive and some of the long par 4's were pretty darn tough. The Par 3's stood out though as the highlights of the course.
The tees, fairways and greens were all very playable, and the heavy rough was well enough away for all but the most horrific shots. There are a few blind holes, but all have markers, and probably the biggest minus would be some of the walks twixt green and next tee. I see remarks about a game played in March, well, that really shouldn't be relevent for other times of year, and indeed, for a Summer visit, to a friendly welcoming venue with none of the arty farty chrome clubhouse scenarios, this is the place for you - you won't regret it!!

The most poorly maintained course I have ever played, losing balls in 10" grass in fairways is not my idea of golf. Hitting wedges from fairways because of poor lies in the long fairway grass. Balls plugging in fairways. Even the paths provided were that muddy you needed wellys to get around. Save your money and dont bother or go somewhere else for similar or less money.

Course in excellent condition, very hot afternoon but hardly any breeze. Several holes have water to tee across, but if you can get round with a reasonable score, your doing well.

Played Libbaton a number of times and must admit, it gets between every time! The course is maturing well and the new clubhouse refurbishments looks great. Otter beer after a tough test of golf, goes down a treat.

Ive played here a few times and I must admit I don\'t know why I keep going back. At best the course is only mediocre, the club house is very outdated and the Manager / Owner should have retired years ago - he has a knack of upsetting me every time with his abrupt unfriendly manner. Id love to say good things about this place but I cant! Next time I play golf in this part of the county I think Ill go to Highbullen
