Tracy Park Golf & Country Club
Wick, Nr Bath, Gloucester, BS30 5RN United Kingdom
The Park is the perfect setting for two outstanding golf courses and is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Park stretches over 240 acres of historic parkland, which includes trees that are over 400 years old. Both courses, the Crown and the Cromwell, have their own distinctive character and are recognised as two of the finest in the south-west.
Nestling in the heart of some of the most mature and unspoilt natural parkland, the magnificent Crown Course is an easy walking course whilst presenting a challenge to all levels of player. This 6252-yard, par 69 course is rich in features, with woodlands, lakes, inviting greens and well-placed bunkers that require a 100% strategy.
The Cromwell Course is the perfect combination of old and new, bringing together the best of both worlds. This course boasts a wonderful setting, with mature trees, streams, lakes and modern, USGA-specification greens. Gently undulating fairways provide this 6246-yard, par 71 course with excitement, reward and magnificent views stretching out across the Cotswolds.Book a Tee Time

Two great and different golf courses. The Cromwell being the easier of the two courses has stunning views of Bristol and the surrounding area. Large USPGA style greens make putting a challenge. The highlight coming on the 18th which plays into the Manor house.
The Crown course is a park land set up offering plenty of challenges for the most experienced of golfers. Small, manicured greens and well placed hazards make 36 points a struggle!
The club has a lot of work going on at the moment with a new Bar, Clubhouse, Reception and 18 new hotel rooms currently being built.
The courses are under renovation as well.
Definitely advise checking this one out!!

Have played this Course several times now and enjoyed it very much even though the back nine is a little tight.
The only criticism I have with this course is the bunkers which are inconsistent, some having very little sand in them resulting in hitting rocks just bellow the sand level

WHAT A SHAME! These are 2 really good golf courses with great topography, you need to think your way around these courses or you’ll end up in a ditch or an unsighted bunker, a bit short from the yellow boxes but no problem; we are not members after all. The rooms were large and very comfortable and the food excellent, they really do have a good chef. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating.
So, what’s the problem? I hear you ask.
Well there are 2. The lack of staff meant we were kept waiting some 20 minutes or more for four drinks and on another occasion we booked dinner for 8.30 and didn’t start eating till 10.15. The poor girl was trying to run the reception, bar and taking the dinner orders all at the same time (she really did do a good job) There was a party of 16 before us, but really, any hotel should be able to cope with that.
The second problem and by far the most important, were the greens, although looking splendid were unbelievably slow, 30ft putts were only just going past half way and bobbled from side to side when slowing down, making putting a lottery. I think this would be unfair criticism if this were the first time playing here but we played here 4 years ago and the greens were just as slow, but they may have had there reasons then, so we thought. Having spoken to some of the members they say they are lucky to get normal paced greens for 2 months of the year. It again looks like they don’t have the staff to cut them or can’t afford the machinery to cut them short enough.
So a note to the owners, despite the good you are turning serious golfers away from your hotel. But get the greens right, (which in my humble opinion is the difference between success and failure) and in the immortal words of Arnold Swartzenegger “I will be back”. But not right now.
Regards,
Richard Czezowski

I have always found this Golf course very good value.
The staff are friendly and both courses are a good test for all standards of players.
The Crown course is easier to play first time as the Cromwell has a few hidden hazards, but both are well kept, well designed and interesting.
The views are excellent from the Cromwell and the bar is friendly and adequate, though not palatial.
Worth every penny and friendly staff count a lot to visiting players.
I regularly pay to play and will keep doing so.

Played the Crown Course today on a 2for1 voucher at £17 each.We arrived as agreed at 7am to play which was excellent first out on course. I have to say that the bunkers were not raked and we only seen 1 green keeper out on course. The holes are very playable and tricky, greens were in good condition but presentation of course cold have been better i feel.

Two good courses to choose from set against a manor house backdrop. Excellent views over Bristol. Tough challenging holes make this course a pleasure to play time after time.
Check out the web for some great bargins on specific tee times.

Interesting course needs to be for a short one. Bunkers need more sand but generally ok. In summary 'Need to be accurate'

Played a Corporate round on 8/4/08 - alot of building development taking place at the club - course quite short but some interesting holes. Can be a little confusing on the Crown course at the 2nd hole where about 6 greens and tees converge. Greens were tight but slow.

My home course. There are 2 fairly challenging courses, the Crown and the Cromwell. Although not long both offer different difficulties.
