Inspired by the great links courses of Britain, particularly those on land which are less dominated by dunes, Craigielaw is equal to many of the finest examples of such courses; some of which are conveniently located nearby in the East Lothian area.
Designed by Donald Steel & Co. the course opened in 2001 and in this short period has been host to many national events, including the 2006 Scottish Amateur Strokeplay Championship and was a qualifying course for the 2007 British Seniors Open at Muirfield.
With challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife, Craigielaw Golf Club is an experience not to be missed.

excellent links course with undulating fast greens and tight fairways, the rough isn't very punishing you can recover wayward shots and still post a decent score. The views out to the sea are spectacular.

really good links course a must play deep bunkers so stay out if you can greens are really hard to read i couldent get any of the greens read so putting was hard angle wize a few tough tee shots aswell due to a few well placed bumkers dident have time to go into the clubhouse after the game as i hade to get off to work only bad thing i would have to say is the price full visitor price is £80 a round we got a winter deal for £35 but only this is it is only mid week the winter deal cant wait to go back to this course

Very sound, challenging course.
Plenty of well placed, eye wateringly deep bunkers (of which I found plenty)
Greens ran true and were of a decent pace despite recently being treated
Value for money it loses a mark - I played it as part of a deal, but I dont think it classed as 'value' to pay the full weekend rate of £80

Great course in brilliant condition. Greens are always great no matter the time of year. Some really good holes and very deep bunkers. Rough is brutual, stay out it!!
