What the club says: The lack of houses in the course, 36 holes, its privileged location on the bank of the Guadiana River, the fantastic views to Portugal and to the mouth of the river, the little distance to the beach, all the comforts and the complementary offer of the Resort, make this club a golfers paradise.
The West Course is a long course, over 7,300 yards long of American style, with very wide fairways, and exquisite shaping of the greens, with spectacular views to Portugal and to the Guadiana River.
The East Course, that will be opened in February 2008, is quite long as well, with more than 6,900 yards, is very well integrated in the slope towards the salt marshes of the Guadiana River, and with views to the sea and the town of Ayamonte. It is a more technical course than the West one.

New owners in 2019 and what a difference they have made . The green are now fantastic and the rest of the playing surfaces are too notch a must play course of you are in the area.

The east course has been closed for 10 years.
The west course is now Valle Guardiana links by Isla canela golf,
The two sets of 9 holes have been reversed and the stroke indexes revised.

Just recently been taken over by the isla canela hotel group who are working very hard to bring the course back to good shape after some months of neglect. Greens have all been relayed but play true.Reviewer Rating

Not as good as it used to be
Since the new ownership it has made a bit of a comeback but still large parts of the coarse not in great condition also a bit over priced.Reviewer Rating

Played Feb 2016. Hardly anyone about, Had heard bad comments from golfers elsewhere. Half built hotel hanging over course entrance so wasnt expecting much. However for 70euros a 2ball with buggy on a special winter rate it looked good value. Played in very high winds but as the front nine was fairly open links type golf we could spray it about a bit. Back nine was more sheltered and prettier so a nice contrast. Course was in decent condition with greens that putted very true. Dont believe the critics. This was a good test of golf in decent condition at a great price. We will return.

Dont let the half built hotel and moth balled crane put you off (no sign of work on it for 2-3 years) (which is a shame because it is in a great location ).This is a wonderful course in a stunningly beautiful location .Wide open links style front 9 mainly by the river.Excellent tighter back 9 meanders up and down the hillside and around huge area of natural wetland .Greens are quick ++ and run very true.
Welcoming helpful staff.Nice large terrace with majestic views of course and across the river in to Portugal.Approx 80 euros for 2 including buggy is an absolute steal.

An interesting course in good condition. Some very challenging holes and stright driving opportunities. You must carry plenty of water if it is a hot day.

The score card for the course is slightly out with the Stroke Index as per the latest score card from the course. The golf club itself is very basic but had adequate facilities for changing, range, buggies, restaurant and small club shop. The course is kept well with greens in great condition but there is only the West course left with the East being closed due to lack of finance. The course is within a new development tat has suffered with the global down turn but don't let that out you off. In you are in the area i recommend the course buggy plus 2 green fees is 80 Euro and i think thats a good deal. There are some really nice elevated T boxes along with some really beautiful holes especially down the back 9. Good challenge of middle T's for mid to high handicappers. All in all well worth it if the drive is within 60-90 mins of your resort on holiday.
